Eddie Bill Silvey, age 73, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2013. Bill served in the Army from 1963-1965 and fought in the Vietnam War. Bill worked with his father as a brick mason and retired as a truck driver after 53 years. Bill was a very caring and generous man; he would help anyone. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Ethel Silvey. Survived by wife, Kandy; daughters, Lisa (John) McCurry and Mary Elizabeth Brister; sons, Kris (Kristen) Bissonette and Kyle Hutchison; grandchildren, Rachel McCurry, Shannon (Geremy) Hawkins, Tonya (Brent) Vineyard, Haley, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Desirae Bissonette, Blakley Hutchison; five great-grandchildren; brother, C. Gene (Shirley) Silvey; and three nephews. Funeral service 7pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Gilbert Harris officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:15pm Tuesday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Highway) for 1:30pm interment service. Family will receive friends 5-7pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
