Douglas Scott Clemons

October 11, 1965 — March 17, 2021

After a loving life, Scott Clemons passed away on March 17th 2021. Scott was born on October 11th, 1965 to Marion and Wade Clemons in Morristown, TN. He excelled in school and graduated from Morristown West at age 16 and received his PHD from the University of Tennessee at age 21. It was obvious to anyone who met Scott that he was destined to do a lot during his life. Scott worked in consulting jobs for many years, but his true passion was teaching logistics at institutions such at The University of Indiana Bloomington and most recently South College. Scott was best known for his sharp wit, love of politics, and a distinct ability to turn any conversation into a lively debate. Many things can be said about a man, but the comment that rings most true for Scott was “He would do anything for anybody.” He demonstrated this golden rule even later in his life when it was difficult for him to do so. Scott is survived by his daughter Sandra Clemons, mother Marion Rusch, sister Cheryl Bartley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A service will be held at a later date when health professionals deem it appropriate to do so. Thank you so much to all the people who loved Scott and helped make his life fulfilling. Our only ask as his family is the next time you watch the news, ride a boat on Ft. Loudon, or smoke a cigar you smile and think of the life he lived.
