Douglas Macathur Nichols

Douglas Macathur “Doug” Nichols age 75 of Fountain City passed away after a long illness Saturday, March 24, 2018 with his wife Judy by his side. Member of New Beverly Baptist Church, Fountain City Lodge #757, 32nd Degree Mason and Shriners with Kerbella Temple. Veteran of The United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a longtime realtor in the Knoxville area beginning his career with Volunteer Realty and retiring form Rocky Top Realty. During his real-estate career, Deborah Black, Harry Bacon, and Sonny Mullins helped build Doug’s career. Preceded in death by parents Christopher Columbus and Cara Thelma Nichols, daughter Judy L. Gaddis, grandson Ray Woodrum, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors: Wife of 31 years Judy Nichols. Children: Camille (Dean) Napier, Lisa Woodrum and Jonathan (Julianna) Hoskins. Grandchildren: Melissa Moon, Douglas (Haley) Smiddy, Stephen (Lauren) Napier, Ryan (Kayla) Napier, Aaron Napier, Kyle (Brianna) Woodrum, Rachel Woodrum, Griffin, Marcus, Sydnie, Lilly and Jack Hoskins, Alex and Gabriel Pacheco, 9 great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors. Memorial Service will be 7 pm Friday at New Beverly Baptist Church, Rev. Eddie Sawyer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to be made to New Beverly Baptist Church Baptistry Fund, 3320 New Beverly Church Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918.
