Douglas "Doug" Wayne Clark

Douglas Wayne Clark "Doug" age 60 of Knoxville, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.  He will celebrate Christmas with his savior Jesus Christ. Doug was a graduate of Holston High School in Knoxville. He is well remembered for his continued operation of his parent's business, Bill's Market and Deli on 6th Avenue in Knoxville. He created a warm and friendly environment that drew many friends and customers. in his later life he was a loyal employee for the City of Knoxville where long and steadfast friendships were formed. Doug was a loving father, grandfather (better known as Papaw) and brother. To Maleah, he was her rock and her person and the one she turned to for love and support. His friend said that Doug's life revolved around Maleah and Hudson. He was generous, giving and sacrificing for others with his gifts, care, and time. He was a loyal friend and always willing to help. Doug knew the meaning of hard work and set an example to others with his work ethic. Simply stated by a good friend, "Doug was a great person". A verse of scripture that would reveal Doug's heart would be Hebrews 13:16, Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. 

 He is survived by his beloved daughter Maleah Nicole Clark (Parker Slack) and the joy of his heart, his grandson Hudson Garrett, sisters Kathryn Prater (James) and Cindy Bradley.  He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Sylma Clark and brother Billy Clark.  Brother-in-law Rudy Bradley, and loved nieces and nephews. 

 Family and friends will meet 2:45 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery 3500 Tazewell Pike Knoxville, TN 37918 for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service, Rev.
