Dorotha "Dot" Fay Severs

Dorotha (Dot) Fay  Severs, age 95, passed away on July 10, 2023 in Port St Lucie, Fl.  She was born in Union County Tennessee in 1928. She graduated from Central High School in Knox County in 1947 and went to nursing school at Knoxville General, graduating in 1950. She worked as a private duty nurse for a few years and later as a cardiac nurse at Saint Mary's Hospital in Knoxville from 1968-1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Severs; parents, Myrtle Wilson Beeler and William Lee Beeler; and brother, Troy Beeler. She is survived by her daughters Vickie (Greg) Rhyne and Susan (Steve) Barber, her granddaughter Kourtnie (Rengie) Ramirez and 4 great grandchildren. She and Fred were members of Atkins Baptist Church in Corryton from 1952-1986. After retiring, she and Fred moved to Sarasota, Fl and were members of First Baptist Church of Sarasota for 15 years. They moved to Port St Lucie in 2001 where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Port St Lucie. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 on Friday, July 21, at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City, immediately followed by a procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 3:00pm graveside service.
