DOROTHY MAE WALLER, 74, KNOXVILLE, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 05, 2014. Dorothy was born in Knoxville, attended Knoxville High School and spent most of her life living in the Halls-Powell area. She was a loving mother, sister and friend to many; longtime member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Scott Waller; her parents, Anna Mae Young and Lloyd Thomas Young; and her siblings, Mary Shelton, John Young, William Young, Thomas Young and Agnes Smith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Frank and Bridget Waller; siblings, Howard Young, Kathleen Corum and Georgia Sisson, as well as many other family members and friends.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. The family will receive family and friends from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Rev. Kent Williams will lead a service honoring Dorothy’s life at 1 p.m., followed by a procession to Greenwood Cemetery.
