Dorothy Mae Allen, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, age 71 of Knoxville, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. Member of Portland Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, roller coasters, and gardening. She was preceded in death by beloved parents, Arnold and Marlene Gilliam; brothers, James Gilliam, Ronnie Gilliam, Richard Gilliam; grandson, Steven Allen Jr. She is survived by loving husband of 56 years, Steve Allen; children, Steven (Debbie) Allen, David Allen, and Chris Allen; sisters, Patricia Emert and Sherry Brown; grandkids, Josh, Haley, Brianne, Caleb, Traven Allen, and Christian and Ashley Brown; great-grandchildren, Summer, Ryleigh, Dallas, Karson, and Kennedy Allen. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet 11:45am Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Glenwood Cemetery for a 12:00pm noon graveside service, officiated by Rev. JW Garner.
