Donald Ray Brewton

Donald Ray Brewton, 78 years old of Knoxville TN, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday 5/31/2016. Born 12/10/1937. Served in US Navy and Marine Reserves. Retired from Norfolk Southern Railway and was a member of North Knoxville Baptist Church. Preceded in death by infant son, Daniel Ray Brewton, parents Roy and Marie Brewton; and sister, Judy Ward. Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia "Ginny" Brewton, daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Courtney; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Dawn Brewton, Donnie and Claudia Brewton; grandchildren Jessica Courtney, April and James Ward, Daniel Courtney, Blakeley Brewton and Daniel Rookard, Seth and Elena Brewton, Ty Brewton, Audrey Brewton, and Erynn Brewton; great grandchildren, Shelby and Celeste Ahern, and Jacob, Kaylee, and Jase Ward; sister, Joy Gasnow, and brother, Gary Brewton; Several nieces and nephews. Service 7 pm Friday at North Knoxville Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Fritts and Dave Gaddis officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to North Knoxville Baptist Church Choir Fund. The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2016, 5-7 pm at North Knoxville Baptist Church. Mynatt Funeral Home in charge.
