Donald "Don" Eugene Bruner, 61 of Knoxville, passed away in his home on Saturday, June 1, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends who loved him. Don worked hard and enjoyed his last job at Medical Waste of America and all those he worked alongside. He was a bright energetic soul with an adventurous nature and shared these cherished experiences with his loved ones. From beach trips, camping, long days exploring the lake on the boat or escaping with his grandson to go ride go-carts. Don was always looking forward to his next opportunity to bring his family together and create memories. He is proceeded in death by his parents, James R. "Bud" Bruner Sr. and Ruth A. Bruner. He is survived by his brothers, James Bruner Jr. and wife, Lois, Darrell Bruner and wife, Sandy, Doug Bruner; sisters, Patricia Dowling and Joyce Webb; grandson, Jordan Swartz, along with close family friends, Karen Verklas, Dewayne Ward and Cindy Webster who remained by his side in his final days. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a great many friends. Don's friendship and kindness has left a permanent mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 3:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville highway, Knoxville, TN 37938.
