Dixie Lee White Mayton, born February 13, 1936, passed away on October 3, 2024 at her daughter's home. She loved the Lord and her faith has now become sight! She has met her Savior: And what a reunion she is having in heaven with her son, Gary whom she has grieved for over 13 years. She attended Washington Pike Baptist Church for many years. Preceded in death by: son, Gary Eugene Hoskins; parents, Mary Bowling White and John Richard White; brothers, David, Dewey and Noel White; sister, Mildred White Barr; nephews, John A. Barr (Buddy), Scott A. White, and Gregory D. White; husband, George A. Mayton; former husband, A.D. Hoskins. Left to cherish her memory: Daughter, Kimberly Hoskins McGimsey (Bob); son, Stephen Mayton (Chandra); Grandchildren, Shanda Hoskins Harvey, Knoxville, TN, Dustin Hoskins (Katie) Canyon, TX, Garren Hoskins (Robin) Nashville, TN, John Cody Hoskins, Nashville, TN, Benjamin McGimsey (Amanda), Kara McGimsey McGill (Zack) Knoxville, TN, Drew Mayton, Chase Mayton, Laikin Mayton, Aubrey Mayton and step grandson, Caden Rickman Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Zane Harvey, Hudson Hoskins, Oliver Hoskins, Charlotte Hoskins, Avery McGimsey, Amelia McGimsey, Luke McGill, Molly McGill and mamaw's baby, Caroline McGill; brother, Steve White (Lynda) Lake City, Fl; nieces, Charlen White, Wendy White Compton (Barry), Sunny White, Sarah White McCoy (Sean), Laura White Nowling (Jason); nephews, Jeff White (Debbie), Darryl White, and several cousins and friends. A very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice nurses Kristin McLoughlin and Stephanie Leach, CNA Anita Wilson, and Visiting Angel Darlene who took such wonderful care of her. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service, Rev. Zack McGill officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.
