Dennis Ray Carpenter

Dennis Ray Carpenter, 55 of Corryton went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Dennis was born to the late Bill R. and Evelyn J. King Carpenter on June 15, 1962 in Knoxville. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing. He loved his church and was known as a giving person. It brought a smile to his face when he knew he was helping others. He loved spending time with his family, surrounded by his grandchildren made him the happiest. Dennis was a long-time Knox County employee where he worked many years in the body shop. Dennis will be greatly missed, he already is… Dennis is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his loving wife, Debbie of 30 years; son, Bud (Stacy) Blake; sister, Brenda (Bill) Keaton; grandchildren, Owen, Tayler, Max, Madison and Madalyn. Dennis is survived by many special friends and extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4-7pm at Clear Springs Baptist Church, 7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, TN 37721. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7pm with Rev. Damon Patterson and Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. Family and friends will meet on Sunday at 1:45pm in The Greenwood Cemetery for a 2pm interment. Pallbearers will be Paul Keeney, Kevin Roach, Billy Mounger, Jack Martin, James Berry, Tommy Donaldson, William Beeler and Chris Brown.
