DeAnna was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer advanced to Stage 4 in September of 2016. She was treated with many months of chemotherapy and multiple clinical trials attempting to help others survive this disease. She fought to the end to survive. Her goal in her last months was to educate and make known the testing particularly for health care professionals which all women need to have to diagnose Ovarian Cancer as early as possible which is absolutely vital to longevity. Some of the early symptoms are common but include feeling tired, feeling full quickly when eating, abdominal bloating, changes in menstruation, changes in bowel patterns, pressure in pelvis and increased abdominal girth. A CA125 inexpensive blood test can be ordered by a doctor to help point attention to do further testing including a biopsy which is conclusive. A friends and family service will be held at the Mynatt Funeral Home on Rennoc Rd in Fountain City in North Knoxville on Saturday November 10th from 3-5pm and also a mass will be held to celebrate DeAnna's life at John 23rd Parish on Melrose Place in Knoxville on Sunday November 11th at 1pm with a time directly afterward to spend with the family. Father Eric Andrews of the Paulist fathers will conduct the services. Cremation has taken place at her request. DeAnna has asked for all donations of money to please be given to The Ovarian Cancer Fund Alliance and/or Garden Montessori School on Garden Drive in Knoxville, Tn. DeAnna wanted you to know that the absolute most important thing she did in her life was to spend time with her family and amazing children and she will always be in their lives in memory.
