David C. Munsey Sr.

David Clay Munsey Sr., age 88, joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2023.  He was a member of Emory Valley Baptist Church and firm in his faith.  David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.  He retired from South Central Bell after 30 years of service.  He was Past Master and 50 year member of Fountain City Lodge No.757 F&AM as well as 50 year member of the order of Eastern Star Arema Chapter 466. 

David is preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Etta Munsey and 6 siblings.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lynda Barger Munsey, three children, Terry Bennett (Ron), David Clay Munsey Jr. (Kaye) and Amy Saylor (Grant); grandchildren, Jeremy McElroy, Jeffrey McElroy (Elizabeth), Brandi Chapman, Ronelle Bennett, Dusty Munsey, Jacob Hurst (Paige), Ben Hurst, Nick Saylor, and Dylan Saylor; great grandchildren, Autumn Shipley, Freedom Chapman, Liam McElroy, Hayes Hurst, JC Hurst, and Brock Hurst.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Emory Valley Baptist Church with funeral immediately following.  Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel at 1:15pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023, to go in procession to Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service.
