David Lynn Hubbard

September 7, 1953 — January 9, 2017

David L. Hubbard, age 63 passed away January 9, 2017 at home. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and retiree from the City of Knoxville Traffic Engineering after 31 years of service. Dave loved all animals and with the help of Regenia, cared for many strays through their years. He also enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. David was preceded in death by parents, Victor and Beulah Hubbard of Knoxville, and two brothers, Cecil and Mick Hubbard. He leaves behind a loving ex-wife, Regenia Hubbard of Knoxville; sisters, Elizabeth Weaver of Knoxville and Kay Drinnen and husband Alan of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Greg Hubbard and wife Sandra, and Dan Hubbard and wife Shirley, both of Knoxville, Bill Hubbard and wife Linda of Danville, Ky, and Tom Hubbard of Mabank, Tx; and Uncle and Aunt Gene and Jo Bach of Mooresville, In. The family wished to extend special thanks to the caregivers of Rescare, especially Willie and Amanda, and the nurses from UT Home Healthcare. Also we will never forget the dedicated workers of the spinal cord injury clinics of the VA in Mountain Home, Tn and Augusta, Ga. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ASPCA or Paralyzed Veterans Association of America. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Thursday January 12, 2017 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Interment will be held 11:30 am Wednesday January 18, 2017 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
