David Lee Matney

David Lee Matney, age 34, of Knoxville, passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Grundy, Virginia. He was born February 2, 1979 in Tazewell County, Virginia. He was the son of Randy Lee Matney of Hurley, Virginia and Kathy Lynn Justus of Talbott, Tennessee. David was an Optician Assistant. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harless Matney and Kennis Justus. Survivors include, wife, Diana Matney of Knoxville, Tennessee, children, Britten, Alyssa, Jackson and Lily, father, Randy Lee Matney and wife Cathy of Hurley, Virginia, mother, Kathy Lynn Justus of Talbott, Tennessee, brother, Steve Matney of Grundy, Virginia, sister, Elizabeth Matney of Grundy, Virginia, maternal grandmother, Ruby Helen Justus of Morristown, Tennessee, paternal grandmother, Helen Matney of Grundy, Virginia, special cousin, Aaron Stump of Morristown, Tennessee, special aunt, Libby Justus-Dickenson of Morristown, Tennessee and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends will meet, 1:45 p.m., Friday, Edgewood Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Mark Smith, Minister of Laurel Church of Christ officiating.
