David Edgar “Edd” Parker, age 72, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 after a long illness. Member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend. This precious, peaceful man will be forever missed, never forgotten by all who knew him, especially his wife, friend, and lifelong partner of 54 years, Marilyn. Preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Martha Parker; brothers, Troy, Glen, Tommy, and Nile Parker; sisters, Annabelle Jones, Barbara Thomas, and Betty Parker. Survived by wife, Marilyn Parker; daughters, Shona Parker and Amber (Walter) Talgo; granddaughters, Parker “Peetie” Talgo (the most recent light of his life) and Kieta Tharp; brothers, Howard (Emma) Parker and Ron Parker; sisters-in-law, Ann Tharp, Juanita Camper, and Carolyn Parker; special niece, Donna Parker-Denney; brother-in-law, Bill Epperson; special nephews, Eddie and Mark Tharp, Jeffrey Parker; and unofficial adopted family members, Mel DeFord and Al Loveday. The family wishes to express their thanks to special friends, Sue Shelton, Tim, Linda and Dylan Shope and Donna and Richard Petree. Also, a special thanks to his Tennova Hospice staff for their caring service. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Parker, Walter Talgo, Mark Tharp, Steve Epperson, Eddie Tharp, Doyle Wade. Honorary pallbearers Gary Sherwood, Ken Camper, Nick Vogle, Mike Bridges. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Wyrick Cemetery for 11:00 am graveside service.
