David Dubinsky Scarlett, age 80, of Knoxville, TN., passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Preceded in death by parents, Ed and grace Scarlett; brother, Harold Scarlett; and son, Michael Scarlett.
David is survived by his wife of 40 years Terry Scarlett, his sons Sammy (Lisa) Scarlett and David (Kim) Scarlett; his daughters Ellen (Johnny) Hitch and Amber (Jason) Patterson, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
David passed away peacefully at home after his second battle with oral cancers. David fought a long and courageous fight which gained him 12 more wonderful years of life with his wife, family and friends. David was an avid VFL fan, was a season ticket holder for football, baseball and softball. He served in the United States Army. Retired after many years of service with Pepsi Bottling Co driving a big rig truck. After retiring, he volunteered several years with the Knox County Sheriffs Office with the Scan program before his latest bout with cancer last year. David and his wife, Terry, enjoyed sports, casinos, travels to tropical Caribbean islands. David never met a stranger and loved to help people. He was a blessed to have spent her life of the past 40 years with him. He will be deeply missed. He was such a wonderful man for all that knew him. David was the rock that we could all count on.
Visitation will be at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, on Wednesday, April 27th, from 5PM until 7PM, with a funeral service to follow at 7PM, officiated by Pastor Jason Turner and Pastor Ronald Dotson. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 28th, at 2PM, at Walnut Grove Cemetery, County Garage Rd, Sevierville, TN.
