On December 7th, David Camp Woodall (Woody, “Pepaw”), of Knoxville, age 86 won his battle with dementia. Preceded and now reunited with parents Ira D. and Eva Camp Woodall, brother Bliss Woodall, brother in-law Paul Wood, and infant granddaughter Julie Michelle Woodall. Survived by loving wife of 65 years Bobbie Woodall, children John Woodall(Debbie), Laura Lakins, Rick Woodall (Mary Beth), and Andy Woodall (Cindy), grandchildren Amber Krause (Craig), Charlie Woodall, Amanda Meek (Trey), Josh Twomey (Christi), Allison Woodall, Jonathan Woodall (Summer), Alaina Tolbert(Zack), April Woodall, great grandchildren Lyla, Teagan, and Fynn Twomey, Emma, Levi, and Carter Meek, Easton, Sawyer, and Henley Woodall, sister Libby Wood, sister in-law Jane Woodall, and a host of family and friends. David spent the best of his youth on River Road in Ashland City, Tn, where he attended high school and excelled in track and baseball. He joined the Navy in 1954 and served his country for over 20 years until his retirement in Knoxville after 2 years as a recruiter. He also lived and worked in Mascot for A.S.A.R.C.O. in the zinc mines. David enjoyed the “Braves” and his western novels. He valued and treasured his relationship with Jesus Christ and he was a member of Salem Baptist Church. The thing he loved most was his wife and family and by extension anyone who was a friend of any one of his family. He never met a stranger, and you never knew what he might say and he had a big, big heart. Family and friends will meet at 1:45pm Thursday, December 17, 2020, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service, Rev. Trey Meek officiating.
