David Allen Graves, age 70, of Corryton, TN passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Physician’s Regional Medical Center. He will be greatly missed by everyone. He was a loving husband, father and papaw. He is a long time member of Little Flat Creek Baptist Church in Corryton, TN. He was a graduate of Gibbs High School. He served in the United States Air Force as Jet Engine Mechanic from 1964 to 1968. He received his Honorable Discharge as SGT. with many honorable certificates. He retired from Knoxville Utilities Board with 27 years of service. Preceded in death by loving daughter, Michelle Sexton Murr; parents, Lafayette Calloway and Leila Mae Frye Graves; brothers, Ronnie Graves, Daryl Graves, Kenny Graves, Bill Graves; sisters, Patricia Graves Lett, Polly Graves Beeler. Survivors include loving wife of 45 years, Virginia Jo Graves; daughters and sons-in-law, Leisa (Geoff) Dupes, Tammy (Harvey) Wright; granddaughters, McKinley Snyder, Ashley (Jeremy) Swift, Marina Dupes; grandsons, Dawson Snyder, Jeremiah (Ashley) Wright, Cody (Alisha) Murr, Brody Murr; great-grandchildren, Braxton Swift, Drake Wright, Braden Murr, Bryson Murr and Selena Murr; sister, Shirley Skeen; sister-in-law, Sharon Graves; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and the many compassionate nurses at Physician’s Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 pm Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:30 pm with Rev. Robert (Jerry) Baltimore officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home, Sunday at 12:15 pm and proceed to Little Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services at 1 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jeremiah Wright, Dawson Snyder, Cody Murr, Jeremy Swift, Aaron Lett, and Kyle Beeler.
