Dave Arthur Ballew, born in 1956, left this world on January 17, 2024, from a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, and love. A fun-loving and free spirit, Dave embraced life on the wild side with a zest that defined him throughout his journey.
Dave, a proud Vietnam era veteran, served his country honorably, embodying the spirit of courage and dedication. Before his military service, he navigated through several high schools in Knoxville, ultimately finding his place at Fulton High School. It was there that he developed lasting friendships and the foundation for a life filled with rich experiences.
A skilled craftsman in the flooring business, Dave's expertise was sought after in both Knoxville and Atlanta throughout the years. His dedication and craftsmanship earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Family was at the center of Dave's heart, and he took immense pride in his role as a father and big brother. His beautiful daughter, Theresa Jewell (TJ) Ballew was the apple of his eyes along with his grandchildren.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Ballew Lawson and Fred K. Ballew, his brother John B. Ballew, and his sister Lori Ballew Wilson. He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren Mateo Ballew, and his brothers Wes Ballew, Larry Ballew, Kenny Ballew, and sister Pat Ballew Mortorano, and a host of nieces and nephews who were touched by his unique spirit.
His indelible impression on the lives of those around him, be it family, friends, or colleagues, will be forever cherished. Dave Arthur Ballew will be remembered for his vibrant personality, unwavering love, and the enduring memories of a life well-lived. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love that he so generously gave during his time on Earth.
The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a celebration of life to follow officiated by Rev. Jonathan Tharpe. Online condolences may be expressed at mynattfh.com.
