Daryl E. Clark, age 88, long time resident of Fountain City and 1946 Central High graduate, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016 after spending the day visiting with family and friends. He was a devoted husband to Betty for 68 years. Daryl was a local home builder for 45 years. He coached baseball and basketball at Fountain City Recreation Park, was an avid fisherman, “antiquer” and video poker player.
Preceded in death by parents, Virgil and Lucille Clark; beloved wife, Betty McNeil Clark; son, Robby Clark; sister, Christine DeValle; brothers, Bobby and Sandy Clark. Survived by daughter, Darlene Simpson; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Emmory Clark; sister, Sue Maniez; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Carol Clark; grandchildren, Brian Simpson (Tonya), Lori Fitzgibbons (Randy), Jamie D’Cruz (Francis); step-grandchildren, Johnny Thompson and Dan Jordan; great-grandchildren, Morgan Simpson, Maya Fitzgibbons, Harper Potter, Beck Fitzgibbons, Maxx Nicholls, Adelyn Fitzgibbons, Saylor D’Cruz, Brilynn Simpson; several special nieces and nephews; awesome caregiver and great- nephew, Nathan Clark. Pallbearers: Brian Simpson, Jimmy Johnson, Nathan Clark, David Simpson, Darrel Phillips, Dick McMillan, Richard Bolus and honorary, Eddie Clark, Sr. Family and friends will meet Monday at Greenwood Cemetery by 10:45am for an 11am graveside service. The family will receive friends Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel from 6-8pm.
