Darryl Royal Peele

Darryl Royal Peele, age 70 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Darryl retired from Walmart in Halls where he served at the manager of dairy and frozen foods and also enjoyed playing Santa at Christmas each year. A graduate of Bearden High School. He played hockey for both Bearden and Central High School. He worked for many years at his family’s business, Green Thumb Family Garden Center in Halls. Preceded in death by his parents John and Doris Peele; brothers Gary and Joe Peele. He will forever be missed by his wife of 39 years Lenna Miracle Peele; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Jimmy Nipper; grandchildren James, Skylar and Avery; sister Carol Stout; brother Jeff Peele; sisters-in-law Lucy Dykes (Chip), Judy Webb, and Mary Minton. As a final act of caring for others Darryl was a tissue donor and many lives will be improved because of his act of compassion. At his request there will be no formal services held.
