Francis “Darlene (Mynatt) Neubert, was tragically taken from us on February 6, 2022, at her home in Dunedin, FL. She was a daughter, wife, stepmother, friend, cousin, and loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Louise Mynatt (Henson); her father, James B. Mynatt; her husband, Stephen M. Neubert.
She was survived by, several cousins, many friends, her former stepchildren, their families, and her beloved dog Gus.
Darlene loved life and anyone who knew her was captivated by her infectious laugh and zest for life. She loved golf and was very active in the LPGA in the Tampa area.
Darlene graduated Halls High School and attended The University of Tennessee. Darlene started her professional career at First Tennessee Bank, as a teller. She had a wonderful gift for working with people. She worked hard and her dedication was rewarded. She received several promotions, working her way up the ranks, assistant branch manager, branch manager, and eventually to Sr. Vice President statewide.
After retirement Darlene enjoyed life in the country with her husband of 25 years, Steve Neubert. Along the way, she was a wonderful stepmother to Chris Neubert and Sarah Neubert, step grandmother to their children, mom to her beloved dog Gus, and friend to many. Two of her lifelong friends were Shirley Ridenour Denton and Debbie Ellison Madon. After Steve’s passing, Darlene moved to the Clearwater Florida area to be near her friend Shirley and to be able to play golf year-round.
Per Darlene’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held, in lieu of funeral services. The Celebration of Life Service is planned for March 5th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations to the Union County Human Society.t
