Danny Ernest Mccarter

Danny Ernest McCarter, age 70 of Powell, TN passed away Thursday November 30, 2017. He was an United States Army Veteran and served as a medic in the Vietnam War. He was also a Silver Star recipient. He was a former member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Powell. He retired from Fi-Shock/Woodstream after 35+ years of service and was a member of the American Legion Post-2. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed traveling with his son to different MLB parks. He loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents James Columbus and Myrtle Garner McCarter; in-laws Luther and Bonnie Collins. Survived by wife of 47 years Carolyn Collins McCarter; son Matthew Jared McCarter (Allison); grandchildren Mason and Ashlynn; brothers Rev. Jimmy McCarter (Ozella) and Tommy (Jerri) McCarter; sister Linda (Bob) Haynes; brother-in-law Gary Collins (Dee Ann) several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday 2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home with service to follow, Pastor Phil Jones and Rev. Jim Waddell officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45a.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00a.m. interment.
