Daniel Glenn Woodard, age 43 of Illinois, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born Saturday, May 6, 1978. He was of the Baptist faith and a member at First Baptist Church of Athens, TN. He was an Army Veteran, worked for the National Park Service, and a carriage driver for Uptown Carriage Tours in Memphis, TN. Dan is survived by his canine companion, Athena; father, Timothy (Stephanie) Woodard; mother, Pamela Schwindt; stepmother, Gayle Woodard; fiancé, Jenn Goddard and sons, Seth and Blake; siblings, Melissa (Chris) Sumner, Laura Schwindt, Christi (Mike) Phillips, Chris Schwindt, Joe (Alysha) Woodard, Ben Woodard, Gabrielle Deege, Taigen Deege; and 11 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, January 31, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel 2829 Rennoc Road Knoxville, TN 37918. Chapel service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 8:00am at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. William D. Henard officiating. A procession will follow to East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 2200 E Governor John Sevier Highway Knoxville, TN 37920 for a 10:00am graveside service and interment. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chris Schwindt, Patrick Whitney, Joe Day, Joe Woodard, Ben Woodard, Chris Sumner, Mike Phillips, and Joshua Scott. Military Honors will be provided by East Tennessee State Veteran Honor Guard. The family is requesting that memorials be made in memory of Dan to one of the following: Til Valhalla Project 22 A Day, Wounded Warriors Project, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
