Cynthia (Cindy) V. Elder

Cynthia (Cindy) V. Elder, born July 25, age 57, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 28, 2016. She was a member of Lighthouse Christian Church and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. She was a 40 year kidney survivor, spending most of her time volunteering for the Kidney Foundation and also the Fish House. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cindy was an avid traveler and explorer who lived life to the fullest and on her own terms. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Virginia Elder. Survived by brother, Michael Elder; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Bob Dennis; 4 legged nieces, Megan and Pica; Aunt Emma Catlett; special cousins, Sharon Gentry and Ken Palmer; and special friends, Colleen Torkelson, Linda Arvin-Norman, Janice Blankenship Brady, and Dale Cox. Special thanks to DCI Clinic and Dr. Paul Serrell, who took care of Cindy for many years. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Pastor David Wheeler and Dr. Todd Stinnett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Tennessee Kidney Foundation, P.O. Family and friends will meet 12:45 pm Friday at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville for 1:00 pm interment.
