Kerr, Curtis Eugene (Gene), age 83, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully into the arms of his heavenly father on November 11, 2012. He was a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, where he always loved to meet and greet at the door. He was a loving, devoted, and very generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend to us all. He was a US Army Veteran and was the owner and operator of Gene’s Used Cars for over 50 years, with his son, Larry by his side for the past 28 years. Born to parents, Horace and Anna (Kerr) Burgin, of Sevierville, who along with his brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Kerr have all preceded him on his journey. Also going on before him were special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jewel Fred and Mintha Mantooth. Survivors include devoted and loving wife of 62 years Dean Kerr, daughter Kathy Williams and husband Roger, son Larry Kerr, and special granddaughters Vanessa (Sherman) James and Rhonda Rauhuff. He was also a very proud great-papaw to Devin, Driana, Shailyn, and Jazzmin and leaves behind a host of other special extended family members as well as friend and former employee Tommy Debusk. Many thanks to Dr. Doug Leahy and Dr. Russell Rotonda, as well as the staff at Tennova Physicians Medical 1C Unit and Ground Central, Tennova Home Health, and Tennova Residential Hospice for their care and support through this time of need. Also, the family would like to take this time to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and visits.
