Cora Jane (Merritt) Burns

Cora Jane (Merritt) Burns, age 86, of Knoxville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 9, 2018. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was very family oriented and enjoyed being in their company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland Davis and Vassie Chambers Davis; and husband, John Burns. She is survived by children, Linda (Jerry) Sherrod and Allen (Debbie) Merritt; grandchildren, Kevin Griffin, Keith Griffin, Michael Merritt and Steven Merritt; and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with funeral to follow at 7:00pm, with Rev. Larry Woods officiating.
