Rev. Clyde Cecil Lakin, age 90 of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 6. He was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He pastored several area churches over the years—the most recent was Springhill Baptist Church. While pastoring churches, he was also employed by Plasti-Line Inc. until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Estella Lakin, brothers Calvin and Butch Lakin, sisters Edna Yearwood and Sissy Lakin. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Aileen Lakin; brothers, Chester and Carlos Lakin; sons, Mike Lakin (Bakita), Mark Lakin (Tammy); grandchildren, Amy Dunn (Matt), Natalie Gideon (Cody), Travis Lakin (Kayce), Ciara Chittum (Quinton), Baylee Votaw (Brandan), and Brooke Ewing (Peter); great-grandchildren, Silas, Lily, Piper, Layne, Zeke, Chase, and Liam. The family would like to thank the staff at Island Home Park Health and Rehab for their exemplary care. The funeral service will be held at Clear Springs Baptist Church, 7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, on Saturday, May 15 at 7 p.m., with Rev. Justin Pratt, Rev. Eddie Sawyer, and Rev. Rick Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Justin Pratt and Rev. Charlie Lynch, will be held on Sunday, May 16 at 3 p.m. at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN.
