Clark Eugene Brandon, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Born July 16, 1946, Clark was a proud graduate of Bearden High School ‘64 and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville ‘68 where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta. He was a veteran and officer in the US Army serving with the Blue Spaders while stationed in Germany. Clark was a faithful member and long-serving Elder at Fountain City Presbyterian Church and the Good News Sunday School class. He retired from ACOM Panasonic after many years, where he truly loved to work with his colleagues from all over the world. A highlight of his life was being chosen to run a leg of the ’96 Atlanta Olympic torch relay on Bearden Hill in Knoxville.
Clark is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mae Brandon. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Norman Brandon; sons, Wesley Clark Brandon (Wes) and John Franklin Brandon (Jay); daughter, Carol Brandon Barrett and husband, Michael Barrett; grandsons, Britton, Bryson, and Brady Barrett; sister, Diana Brandon; nieces, Kari Wilkerson Ford and Jamie Wilkerson Crawford; sister-in-law Susan Norman Wallace; nephew, David W. Wallace; niece, Mandy Wallace Atchley; and many four-pawed children whom he loved.
The family will receive friends 11:00 AM. --1:00 PM at Fountain City Presbyterian Church, 500 Hotel Road, Knoxville on Saturday, June 29, 2019. A funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 PM with Reverend Gradye Parsons officiating. A family graveside service with military honors will be at Edgewood Cemetery at 4 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Foundation Fund at Fountain City Presbyterian Church or Brandon Breakfast Easter Fund at Erin Presbyterian Church, both in Knoxville.
