Clarence Leon Lakin, age 92, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center. During his long life of nurturing his family and making many friends along the way, he spent his working years crossing the country in his eighteen-wheel rigs. He especially enjoyed taking many of us with him on these special trips. Clarence served as a proud Marine in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church and the Corryton Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. E. E. Lakin and brother, Rev. Herman Lakin. He is survived by his wife, Betty Davis Lakin; son, Richard Lakin and his partner, Charles Williams; sisters, Wanda James, Imogene Simmons, Claudine Lakin, Elizabeth Lakin, and many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Wade Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Flat Creek Cemetery Fund. Funeral Service will be 2pm Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with Rev. Damon Patterson and Rev. Hugh Doug Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Little Flat Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
