Clarence Dean Brantley, age 75 of Corryton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 12, 2016. He was a long-time member of Emory Valley Baptist Church. He was an U.S. Army Veteran, he loved his church family, his plumbing business and being able to help people. Clarence also loved raising a garden and giving away what he raised to family, loved ones, and friends. He liked fishing and going to car shows. Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cecilia Brantley; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Louella Brantley; brother-in-law, Robert Bailey; father-in-law, Harry Helms. Survived by Nancy Brantley, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, who was there faithfully by his side; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Frieda Brantley, Mark and Carey Brantley; grandchildren, Brook, Sadie, Mason and Ty Brantley; his loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Melborn Munsey, Linda and Jim Strange, Carolyn and Reuben Stansberry, Frances Bailey; mother-in-law, Helen Helms; special nieces and nephews. Special thanks to family and friends for all their prayers, love, and support. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Cloud, Dr. Eapen and staff, Tennova Hospice, and Physicians Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or The Gideons International. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Dean Brantley and Rev. Richard Nicely officiating. Pallbearers: Dewayne Reece, Mark Grubb, Jason Helms, Tim Munsey, Scott Bailey, and Dale Parker. Family and friends will meet 10:30 am Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for 11:00 am interment.
