Clara Jean Folden

Clara Jean Kanipe Folden, age 88, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. She was a Member of Bells Campground Baptist Church, a Member of the Gideon Auxillary, Knox County 10-4 Club, and she loved reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elmer “Red” Folden, daughter and son-in-law Terri Lynn and Butch Gardner, siblings Roy, Walter, Alfred, Bill and Betty Ruth Kanipe, Bonnie Southerland and Polly Bowling. She is survived by children Chris Folden, and wife Laurie, and Kathy Barefoot, and husband Simon, grandchildren Angela Wright, Emily Sears, Joe Wright, B.J. Gardner, Mallory Folden, and Vicki Jones, great-grandchildren Allen Froelich, Liam McCammon, Sarah McCammon, Natalie May and Levi Wright, sisters-in-law Shelby Folden and Hazel Kanipe, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the Gideons. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Brian Trapp will be officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. interment service on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at Bells Campground Cemetery.
