Christy Renee Larue

Christy Renee Greene LaRue, 48, of Maynardville, Tennessee peacefully left her earthly body to dance with her daughter in a heavenly field of flowers on June 24, 2021. She was born on August 8, 1972 in Knoxville Tennessee, daughter of Sandra Sexton-Smith and Jimmy D. Greene. Christy graduated from Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1990. She worked as an account manager in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She achieved her CIC certification in 2019 while working at J Smith Lanier. She recently reconnected with and married her high school sweetheart, Ron LaRue of Maynardville, Tennessee. Christy was a kind, gentle soul who never met a stranger. She was the life of the party and would light up any room she walked in. She really loved to tell a story and always told a great one. Her laughter was so contagious it could put a smile on anyone’s face. Christy had a passion for volunteering her time and talents to several organizations involved with helping animals. She also had a passion for expression and loved to paint. Her life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her understood the quality of her existence far exceeded the quantity of her time. She was so vivacious and was an inspiration to us all. She is proceeded in death by her Daughter, MaKayla G. Romines, Father, Jimmy D Greene; Mother, Sandra Sexton-Smith. She is survived by husband, Ron LaRue; Son, Dylan Jones; Sisters, Rita Greene Lewis, Katherine Davis (Steven), Christina Tyler (Chris); Nephew, Zachary, Max; Nieces, Kacie, Emily, Haylee, Madi; Mother and Father in law, Ellie and Leonard LaRue; Brothers in Law, James LaRue, Rick LaRue, Kenny LaRue (Kim); Special Friends, Deanna, Dawn, and Elaine; Several beloved pets; and many extended family and friends. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Mynatt Funeral Home, 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. Family will receive friends Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with service to follow, Pastor Terry Simmons officiating. Friends and family will meet at Greene Family Cemetery in Newport at 1:45 pm Monday, June 28, 2021 for a 2:00 pm interment.
