Christine Markita (Ingram) Fritz, age 86, of Knoxville, TN died peacefully surrounded by loving members of her family on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
The funeral Mass for Christine will be held on Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 AM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 1041 N. Central Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Monsignor Xavier Mankel, V.G. will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City on Wednesday, November 28th from 6:00-7:30 PM followed with a Rosary at 7:30 PM.
She was born on October 2, 1926 in Knoxville, TN to Martin Vann Ingram and Elizabeth Jane (Taylor) Ingram. Christine had four sisters; Catherine, Kathleen, Helen, and Mollie. Christine, Helen and Mollie were orphaned at an early age; Christine and Helen came to call John Tarleton Institute for Children “HOME” because of the love and care of Mrs. Ramage, housemother at John Tarleton and the friendships established over the years with other boys and girls.
Christine was a graduate of Rule High School, “Class of 45”. Christine met and married the love of her life, Daniel Thomas Fritz, Sr. on July 13, 1946, who preceded her in death. She was an exceptional seamstress, great cook, enjoyed working in her yard, and playing the piano. She was a loving wife and devoted Mother to her husband and seven children. Sisters, Catherine, Kathleen and Helen also preceded her in death.
As a faithful member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Christine loved and cherished her church with the knowledge that our Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary kept her safe with Jesus Christ her son. She served as a member of the Altar Society, The Ladies of Charity and the Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.
Survived by her children, Daniel Thomas, Jr. and wife Antoinette; Grace Markita Cox; Charles Ingram and wife Tracy; Mary Christine and husband James L. Barnes, Sr.; Joseph Patrick (Panama City Beach, FL); Karen Renee’ and husband David Thurman (Lenoir City); Shelba Jean and husband Douglas W. King (Oak Ridge); sister Mollie and husband Berle Arnold; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many friends.
