Cheryl Elizabeth Matthews

Cheryl Anderson Matthews, age 55 passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1967 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a Karns High School graduate, class of ‘86. After High School, Cheryl attended college at The University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in ‘91. Cheryl served the community as a Librarian at the Knox County Public Library for 25 years. She is preceded in death by her father Dr. Edward Hoyle Anderson; paternal grandparents, Carl Edward and Sudie Marie (Anderson) Anderson; and maternal grandparents, John Henry and Fannie Lou (Epperson) Reno. Survived by her mother, Catherine Marie (Reno) Anderson; her loving husband of 28 years, I. Alan Matthews; son, Ian Spencer (22); and daughter, Lydia Grace (19). The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00pm. Friends and family will meet at 10:45am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
