Charlie John Hulen

May 9, 1937 — September 11, 2018

Charlie John (C.J.) Hulen 81 years of age, from Knoxville TN went home to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 after a fast decline of illness. C.J. lived a life of dedication to God, his family, his community and his accounting firm. He loved his wife with every being of his heart. All knew of their supernatural love for one another because it glowed on their faces. C.J. and Anna were married for 49 years and sweethearts for 53 years total. C.J.'s first experience of church was when he met Anna at New Beverly Baptist Church and fell madly in love. He came to know Christ as a teenager and was a member of New Beverly Baptist Church for 35 years and then a member of Sonlight Baptist Church. He was in a position of trust at both churches where he served as treasurer for many years. Following his graduation at Central High School in 1954, C.J. attended Knoxville Business College to pursue a career in accounting. While C.J. had smaller solo practice he had a big heart for his clients who became some of his greatest personal friends. C.J. enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking, land development and building. However, his favorite was browbeating the IRS on behalf of his clients. HE was the best tour guide in the east and took many people on trips in almost all 50 states. Other than traveling, he enjoyed his years of coaching a mens' championship softball team (Kingsman). From Harlan, Kentucky to Knoxville, Tennessee, C.J. was a respected, accomplished husband, Father, Papa, and more. Preceded in death by mother Lennie G. Peters, father-in-law Roy t. Myers, mother-in-law Ruby Myers, wife Anna Myers Hulen, sons Charles John Hulen, Jr., and Roy "Tyson" Hulen.
