Charlie J. Chesney

Rev. Charlie J. Chesney, age 76, of Knoxville passed away August 29, 2016. He was a member of Texas Valley Baptist Church. He was former pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church and Unity Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and proud veteran of the US Army. Preceded in death by parents Clyde and Purlia Chesney; sisters Betty Chesney and Peggy Dunsmore; brother Elmer Chesney. Survived by wife Shirley Chesney; son Jeff and wife Michelle Chesney, son Gary and wife Kim Chesney, daughter Debbie and husband Jerry Brown; grandchildren Jarren, Chelsey, Zach, Morgan and Logan; sisters Mattie Russell and Barbara (Fred) Wallace. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Texas Valley Building Fund. Funeral service will be held 8:00pm, Wednesday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with Rev. Kenny Boling officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:30am, Thursday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Emory Pike American Christian Church Cemetery for interment at 10:00am, with Rev. Dallas Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
