Charles Smith, age 100 of Knoxville, passed away of Friday, December 31, 2021. As both parents died by 1927, he and his brothers were raised at Jr. Order Home, Lexington, North Carolina where he became proficient in every trade. He returned to Knoxville at the age of 18. Baptized in North Carolina. Married Anna Waggoner, wife of 65 years, in 1949 by Ralph L. Murray. Retired from Kerr Motor Company and Burgin Dodge. He was a devoted husband, family man, hunter and fisherman. Preceded in death by wife, Anna, parents; Guy Victor Smith and Zella W. Smith. Brothers; Raymond, Jess, and Jack Smith; sister, Bonny. Survivors; Daughters, Charlotte W. Livingston and Connie J. Donahue. Grandchildren; Sherry Anne Hoyle, Amy Marie Cross and Toyka Donahue. Great-grandchildren; Bailey Mize, Summer Mize, Samantha Warwick, Jesse Warwick, and Alexandra Bryan. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service, Rev. Ande Myers officiating. Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
