Charles Robert Hayes

Charles Robert Hayes, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2020 surrounded by his family. A devoted great-grandfather, grandfather, father and friend, “Rob” will be admirably remembered by his many girls, beloved son, and great-grandson. He was preceded in death by parents Von and Laura Hayes and wife of 45 amazing years, Patricia “Patsy” Hayes. There is no greater joy than resting assured Rob is once again reunited with the love of his life. Those who knew Rob were most aware of the love he had for his family. He was far more than a Papaw to his grandchildren, guiding them throughout childhood and into adulthood. He is survived by children: Charles Robert II and wife Tammy Hayes and Lori Hayes; grandchildren: Halley Hayes, Marley Hayes, Taylor Pinkerton, Tori Pinkerton, Justice Brooks, Jaiden Gilbert, and Jalia Gilbert; great-grandchildren: Brooklynn Hayes, Emmalynn Ibsen, Allysah Ibsen, Torrin Wilson, and Kaylonnie Gilbert. Rob was also close to many cousins. Second to the love of his family was Rob’s love of cars. Working as a mechanic, car salesman, and serviceman, Rob found immense joy in his trade and shared knowledge with all those around him. There was seldom a night where he was not found watching NASCAR in the living room with his son. Papaw Rob will be remembered by many as a man of faith, devotion, and generosity. We will all love and miss you tremendously. Family and friends will meet Monday, August 3rd from 5-7 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City with a service to follow. Burial service will be held Tuesday, August 4th at 2:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery. We ask all attending be there by 1:45 pm.
