Charles Raymond Bishop

Charles R. Bishop, age 82, passed away March 13, 2016. He was a member of Stonewall Baptist Church and served in the US Army as a corporal from 1953-1956. Charles worked as a Knox County Deputy Sheriff and as a painter for many years. Preceded in death by parents, Charles H. and Gladys Bishop; sisters, Mary E. and Billie Jean Bishop; brothers-in-law, Steve McCarter and Roy Henry. Left to cherish his memory are loving wife, Doris Jean Bishop; sons, James R. “Rick” Bishop, Timothy R. Bishop and wife Pamela Bishop, Matthew C. and wife Onita Bishop; grandsons, Richard A. and wife Trina Bishop, Dakota Bishop; great granddaughter, Addie; sister, June Henry; special nieces and nephews, Freddie, Jason, Lora, Noah, Ella, Valerie, Hamid, Cameron and Aaron; beloved cousin, David Myers; sister-in-law, Joyce McCarter; daughter-in-law Cindy Hicks. Family and friends will meet 1:15pm Wednesday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (Gov. John Sevier Hwy) for 1:30pm interment service. Family will receive friends 5-7pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with service to celebrate his Life in Jesus Christ his Savior to follow, Rev. Vonzell Whetsell, Rev.
