Charles Leon Nelson, Sr.

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Leon Nelson, Sr.  Age 69, of Knoxville, TN.  

He leaves us with the legacy of pure love, kindness and so many cherished memories.  

Charles married the love of his life, Angelena Smith Nelson in 1978; from their love came two beautiful children, Charles, Jr. and Laurian McMahan, two beautiful granddaughters, Madison and Cara McMahan (forever ‘Papaw’s Sweet Girls’).  He was greeted with a grand reunion in heaven by his son, Chuck, Jr. as well as many of his beloved family members and friends.

The Nelson family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  Friends are welcome to share their favorite stories and special memories of Charles, beginning at 7:00 pm.

Charles will be laid to rest on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 3:00 pm.  Sherwood Memorial Gardens 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701.
