Rev. Charles Lee Capps, age 79, passed away Friday March 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the founder of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. He was a member of American Baptist Church. Preceded in death by mother Lucy Scott; father Rufus Capps; sons Robert and Danny Capps; granddaughters Jamie Capps, Jennifer LeQuire; brothers Eddie and Marshall Capps. He leaves behind loving wife of 59 years Nelia Capps; son Bobby Capps; daughters Kathy and (Wade) LeQuire, Garlin (David) Campbell, Angel (Bobby) Nuchols; brother Paul (Harriett) Capps; daughter-in-law Sharon Capps; grandchildren Danny Capps Jr., Danielle Capps, Rocky LeQuire, Charity, Christian and Heavenlee Nuchols, and Betty Rivera; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; special friends Joy Ireson, Gene Enbanks, and Greg McKinney. Family and friends will meet 10:15AM Wednesday at the funeral home and proceed to East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (GJS Hwy.) for 11:30AM interment with military honors. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. A second visitation will be held 5-7PM Tuesday with funeral service to follow.
