Charles I. Etherton (Tud), born June 28, 1936 (age 78), of Halls, lost his long battle with cancer January 31, 2015 and has gone to be with his heavenly father. Tud was a great hunter and fisherman, a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and Fountain City Masonic Lodge No.757 F&AM, he served his country in the United States Army, and retired from TVA in 1980. Tud leaves behind: his caregiver and best friend, the love of his life, Shirley Brock Etherton, son Randy and special daughter-in-law Colleen Etherton, son Kenny Etherton, daughter Kimberley Fitzpatrick, grand daughters Lindsay and Jason King, Jessica Etherton, Kenzie and Kyle Decatur, grandsons Ryan Fitzpatrick, Corey Fitzpatrick, and Waylon Etherton, great grandchildren Jacie, Jaxton, and Jaylie King, and Zaylee Etherton, sister Mary Brewster, 4 nephews, 1 niece, and godson Andy Chen. A special thanks goes to Dr. Gerald Mancebo, Dr. Richard Antonucci, along with all their nurses and other doctors at Tennova North. Pallbears will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers and special friends include: Jack Effler, John Effler, Paul Clark, Jim McGinnis, Howard Baker, Larry Mathis, Jerry Cheung, Todd Cook, Ed Parker, Milford Jorgensen, Bob Porter, Ray Beeler, Bob Abner, Bob Bean, Jimmy Claiborne, John Holland, Evan Bowers, and Bud Brewster. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital. Family and friends will meet 12:15pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to leave in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1pm graveside service with Pastor John Holland and Jerry Chung officiating.
