Charles Hillard Adams, age 87, born April 8, 1930, passed away November 10, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Charles was a member of Powell Church, and retired from Stokes Electric Company after more than 30 years of dedicated service. He was also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Knoxville Community Action Committee Mobile Meals Program, and a ticket taker at University of Tennessee events. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur & Maude Adams; son, Andrew Thomas Adams; brother, Don Adams. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sylvia Jean Stooksbury Adams; daughter, Luci Adams Greiman and husband Bob; son, Arthur Chandler Adams; adopted son, Charles David Adams; widow of Andrew Thomas Adams, Renee Adams Shockley; grandchildren, Carleigh Anna Greiman, Abigail Rose Greiman, and Mason Battle Adams; sister, Marcella Cabage; brother, Robert Adams and wife Deannie, and many other beloved family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Knoxville Habitat for Humanity, 1501 Washington Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm, Monday, November 13, 2017 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7pm. Rev. Martha Atkins officiating.
