Charles Elvin Deford

Charles Elvin DeFord, age 76, of Powell, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on, Thursday, September 23 , 2021. He was born and raised in Powell, attended Powell High School, and worked for HallsDale Powell Utility for over 47 years. Charles served in the Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar M-14, and received a Vietnam Service Medal with 1 campaign star. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Elvin Deford; his sister, Patsy Connater Rankin. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Patricia Deford; sons Deane (Terri) Hansen and Lee (Alison) Hansen; one granddaughter, Staley Marie Hansen; four grandsons, Daniel, Andrew, Zachary and Ryan Hansen; two great grandchildren, Braylon and Piper Hansen; two nephews Jimmy (Cindy) Connatser and Denny (Manuela) Connatser; one niece Kelly (Kert) Parks.
