Charles Edward Smith

Charles Edward Smith, Jr., age 62, of Knoxville, passed away, August 8, 2012. He was a member of Smithwood Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Volvo Equipment and was currently employed by Food City in Halls. Charles was an avid Harley Motorcycle rider and “Poppy” to three grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Charles E. Smith, Sr. Survived by wife, Wendy E. Smith, children and spouses, Celena S. and Aaron Miller, Ashley S. and Eric Marshall, grandchildren, Ian Miller, Ivy Miller and Lyric Smith, mother, Ernestine Smith, sisters, Carol Carmichael, Susan Smith and nephew, Matthew Smith. Service, 8:00 p.m., Friday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City, Dr. Harold Bryson officiating. Family and friends will meet, 10:45 a.m., Saturday, Highland Memorial Cemetery for interment at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
