Charles Donald “Don” McConkey, 85, Halls Crossroads, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep one day shy of his 86th birthday. Dad was a 1952 graduate of Halls High School. Dad was very active in the Halls Community during the ‘60s and 70’s, he was a coach for many years at Halls Community Park. He was a 50 year member of the Fountain City Masonic Lodge, Number 757. Dad is a Charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. He retired from TVA in 1982. He is preceded in death by wife, Mary Grace Alley McConkey, Parents, Earl and Erma McConkey, Brother, Pete McConkey, Sisters Ruby Tindell and Elizabeth Clevenger. He will be missed greatly by Son, Wes (Lisa) McConkey and Daughter, Lei (Patrick) Faust, the joys of his life, grandchildren Megan McConkey, Nolan and Cooper Faust (they did no wrong in his eyes), Sister, Eileen Eubanks, and a host of other dear family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, with a 7:00pm service to follow with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Norris Memorial Gardens for a 1:00pm graveside service. Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
