Charles Woodrow (Woody) Lassetter age 78 of Fountain City, died 5:56 pm Saturday, March 25, 2023 at North Knox Medical Center. Charles was born July 22, 1944 and served in the United States Marine Corps. Charles had been an Oak Ridge Policeman and retired from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office where he did traffic accident reconstruction, he started the TANGO Motorcycle Unit, member of the Blue Knights and member of the LDA. Charles was a member of the Gold Wings Road Riders where he met his brother from another mother very best longtime friend Roger Davis, and his other brothers and sisters in Blue, especially Skeeter and Colin. Preceded in death by parents: E. L. and Hazel Lassetter, Sister: Nedra D’Ambrosio, Brother: Jimmy Lassetter and Daughter: Kathryn “Dee” Clemens. Survivors: his devoted wife of 34 years; Carol J. Lassetter, Daughters: Dessa (Scott) Hutchison, Carrie (David) Delos Santos, Beth (Chuck) Stansberry. Grandchildren: Ashley, Eric, Michelle, Rebekah, Jennifer, Dani, Joshua, Jessie, Robby, Andrew, Charlie and Will. Great-grandchildren: Alexander, Savannah, Scarlett, Aiden, Ezra, Nova and Bobby. Several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at your convenience Tuesday, April 4, 2023 1:00 pm -7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel to leave in procession for a 2:00 p.m. committal service at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) with full military honors presented by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
