Chad Jason Powell

With a heavy heart, we say goodbye to Chad Jason Powell a loving father, son, brother and uncle. Chad, age 48, lost a hard-fought battle with cancer Saturday, August 12. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and an employee of Quality Steel. Chad was part of the 1986 Halls High School State Championship football team. #75 will live on in our hearts forever! Chad is survived by his son, Drew; Drew’s mother, Angie Willis Powell; his father and mother, Wray and Sue Powell; sister, Allison Cornell and her husband Judd; nieces, Emma and Ellie Cornell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00pm, with Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45am, Wednesday, at Clapps Chapel Cemetery for interment at 11:00am.
